Notes from our reviewers

The CLEAN collection is hand-picked and rigorously reviewed for scientific accuracy and classroom effectiveness. Read what our review team had to say about this resource below or learn more about how CLEAN reviews teaching materials.

  • The "notice and wonder" teaching strategy is generally effective for students willing to engage in pair-share and class discussions, but teachers may need to adjust if their students don't engage well with these methods. Having students keep a journal of their thinking in addition to using sticky notes to record thoughts and questions would help, though that may add time to the lesson. The activity is suitable for middle schoolers and can be easily modified to be more complex for high school students.
