Frank Niepold joined NOAA in 2005 with the mission to make the nation climate-literate. At the time, there were no frameworks, staffing, budget, or metrics for climate education. So, Niepold set to work building the partnerships and networks necessary to create those resources. Now, Niepold is the Senior Climate Education and Workforce Programs Manager for the Climate Program Office (CPO). As he continues to push climate literacy forward, new research suggests that his work is making an impact.
